The contents of this site represents something of a "Work in Progress" and over the coming weeks and months I shall be adding text and images as things develop. Wally was a prolific artist who by his own admission couldn't stop painting! At the height of his popularity and that of the East London Group both he and his brother Harold held down full time jobs in the city in London but still found sufficient time to produce numerous pieces for exhibition at their annual shows at the famous Lefevre Gallery. In Walter's case in one year in particular, 1931, he produced 21 pictures for Lefevre between 8th of January and 20th October.
As I have mentioned, Walter was a prolific artist and I have included a few "Examples of Wally's Work" to give visitors a feel for what he produced. There is a full slideshow of his work that is only available to members of this site which displays a full range of his work so if you would like to see more please follow the links on this page to the "Login" page. Indivuals who register as members will gain access to the slideshow and other features that are currently under development and will also receive period e-mails from the site detailing upcoming events like the proposed "Retrospective Exhibition" at a prestigious West End Gallery and also the proposed book launch by David Buckman, author of "The Dictionary of British Artists Since 1945", who is currently in the final stages of preparation for his new book specifically about the East London Group.
